Ready to start

Ready to start

First of all, happy new year! And welcome to my blog.
I'm feeling motivated and true to the motto "new year, new me" (I know how annoying that sounds, but still) I thought it would be a good idea to start a blog.

Two things:
a) I'm German, but I love writing in English and improving my language. So, forgive me if I make some mistakes. Maybe I could do both languages later and translate, but for now, it's just English.
b) I have to get used to everything here first, so I apologise for my blog looking like crap right now.

I don't know whether I'm going to stick with this, but I sure am ready to start.
'Ready to start' - isn't this how everyone is feeling in the first days of January? Besides the classic new year's resolutions I have, like having a healthy diet and exercising, the one thing I am ready to start in 2015 is reaching my full creative potential and pursuing my passion, which is language and writing. I have recently been to a poetry slam and admiring all those young writers inspired me.

I'm at a point in my life where I need to figure out who I am and what I want to do. I feel like I have so much to say. 2015 is going to be a big year for me: I'm turning 18 and leaving school in the summer, probably apply for university, maybe get a job, maybe get my driver's licence? Hopefully it will be an exciting year I can document on here.

My other passion, besides language, is music. I absolutely love to sing and I wish I could play an instrument, preferably the drums or piano. (I play the guitar occasionally, but I'm pretty bad at it.) I listen to music all the time and I love discovering new artists and bands. Fun fact (more or less): my favourite song by one of my favourite bands Arcade Fire is called "Ready to start" and I wish I could've named my blog like that. My actual blog name, however, refers to the album "Viva la vida" by Coldplay, one of my other favourite bands, if not my absolute favourite. I'd like to publish music-related stuff like album reviews and playlists on here as well.

I have no idea how you can find blogs and how I could gain readers. And to be honest, I don't really care right now. At the beginning, my main goal is to actually motivate myself to write something, to live a life that's interesting enough to write about and to simply share my thoughts, no matter how many people will read it.
If you do read this though, I would appreciate some feedback, whether it's problems concerning language or just an impression.

I also don't know how to end blog posts.
